Maria Gubina designed an apartment in St. Petersburg for a family of three. The most difficult stage was the partial dismantling of the bearing wall. A word to the architect.
“The kitchen and living room windows overlook the lake. When the customer first entered this apartment, still in the concrete walls, and saw a panorama that opens from the windows, he immediately made the decision: “You have to buy!”
Dreamland bed. At the head of the panel of mahogany, on the floor of the cork. The original layout provided for in addition to the kitchen-living room, only one spacious bedroom and two small rooms connected by curved corridors. Since we needed two full bedrooms, we decided to dismantle a part of the bearing wall between the small rooms. We spent six months on the design, coordination and dismantling of the wall. They made reinforcement of the side walls, strengthened the jumper, having mounted 5.5-meter channel bars on the columns. It was the most ambitious and difficult part of the project, with the installation of a crane, window dismantling and other adventures. But as a result, we got a spacious bedroom, which argues from the living room around the square.
Customers wanted a spacious, minimalist interior in warm colors. They are unique people of their kind: they have few personal items, which means they do not need large storage systems. Many elements of furniture in the apartment are architectural rather than utilitarian. Example - racks in the living room. When work on the project was in full swing, the customer returned from the trip and expressed a wish to bring Asian motifs into the interior. We offered several options, and finally settled on adding mahogany panels to the master bedroom - such decoration is often found in Asian houses and hotels. We nevertheless decided to avoid white color and stopped on milky and light beige tones.
Desk Porada, stool Lapalma. The wardrobe is made to order according to the sketches of the architect. The peculiarity of this project is that there are practically no decorative, accent furniture, lamps and other large interior objects. Complex textures come to the forefront: coconut mosaic in the living room, rosewood floor, suede wallpaper in the bedroom in contrast to the mahogany panels. Everything else becomes an addition to the preset tone. And when selecting furniture, we only thought about correctly complementing the already finished composition, without focusing on specific elements. ”
