In London, opened the fair PAD (Pavillion Art + Design). From October 3rd to 9th, in the very heart of Mayfair, a first-class collection design (icons of the 20th century and state-of-the-art items), works of decorative art, jewelry, as well as painting and photography are exhibited.

This year the fair celebrates its tenth anniversary. In 2006, a group of French gallery owners, who had a spring fair in the Tuileries Garden with the same name, decided to parachute in London. At that time, it was a city full of money, ambition, eccentricity and rich people who are in search of unique works. The French were joined by fellow British, Americans, Dutch, Italians. The result was a compact exhibition, which is convenient to get around in two hours and get acquainted with things that in the near future will decorate the most fashionable living rooms on both sides of the Atlantic.

Gallery owners took the risk and did not lose: the fair, which first presented design and art under one roof, liked London, its inhabitants and guests. If the Parisian PAD ten years ago was scornfully called the “interior art” fair, the London PAD immediately set a high level of the event and even in some way equalized customers who bought things into the collection with those who are looking for masterpieces to decorate their homes.

What is that is, on the PAD, in addition to collectors, come famous decorators. Moreover, some, like the gallery designer Shahan Minassian, have their own stands here. This year 65 galleries are participating. Of course, Carpenters Workshop Gallery, Galerie BSL, Jacques Lacoste, Dutko, Downtown François Laffanour and many others. There will be galleries specializing in "cabinets of curiosities" and kunstkamerah. At Berkeley Square, oranizers will erect not a black pavilion, but a snow-white one. The famous capital chef will feed the guests, and the temporary restaurant will be furnished by Veere Granny.

By tradition, they will hold a competition, as a result of which selected items will be in the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum. It is no coincidence that the famous Amrican stylist Elizabeth Salzman says that the London PAD is a meeting place for all the most beautiful things, here you can meet amazing friends, impeccable taste, excellent style.
