The owners of the St. Petersburg restaurant Japanese cuisine "Ki-do" on Kamennoostrovsky prospect, 47, they decided to abandon the authentic interior, and their desire coincided with the mood of the architects. The restaurant has two rooms, one of which is divided in half by a glass partition. The windows are “cut through” from floor to ceiling, so the walls between them look like columns. The fact that at first glance it seems ceiling painting, in fact - scanned slides from paintings of XVII-XVIII centuries, reproduced on the banner fabric. The canvases are applied to the plane of the ceiling despite the partitions, which is why the effect of painting “penetration” into all corners of space is created. The walls - rough plaster, painted with gold paint - are perceived as a frame, bordering the canvas.
