Marco Agostoni heads one of the oldest Italian furniture factories. Isacs Agostoni was founded in 1890 and not for the first century specializes in the production of furniture in the classical style. But the house of the owner of the company is decorated in a style that can hardly be called a classic

When you look at this house, it is hard to believe that it is located not somewhere in Palermo or on the island of Capri, but in the north of Italy. Even more surprising is that it is located in the very center of the city and adjacent to a large eight-story building. In general, a high oasis is hidden behind a high fence - with a pool, palm trees and a lawn. And in the center of the oasis a snow-white handsome house rises proudly.

The mansion was built over 20 years ago. The architect who designed it was definitely a supporter of postmodernism popular at the time. An attentive glance will make out here quotes from Andrea Palladio and Jacopo Sansovino, see in a new way beaten pieces of the Venetian Palace of the Doge and Juliet's Verona balcony. At the same time, the building itself turned out to be light, elegant, and even a little ironic.

The architectural game continues in the interior. For example, the balustrade of the stairs in the house exactly repeats the balustrade of numerous terraces, so it is not immediately clear where the street ends and the interior begins.

The owner of the mansion says that he lived in classical interiors for too long, so he didn’t want dark wood and gold around. The house was largely anticipated and the main trend in the development of the company, which gradually moved away from creating furniture in the style of "classic" classics and came to an eclectic style, where the traditions of classic and modern are mixed. Not by chance now some of the collections ISACCO AGOSTONI designs one of the brightest neoclassical architects of our time - Antonio D'Andrea (Antonio D'Andrea).

“History, tradition is a very important part of our company, but I do not think that we should stand in one place. Imagine a large villa, for example two or three thousand square meters. Perhaps the owner will issue several rooms in the house in a classic style - with a boiserie, gilding, and carved capitals. But if he wants to arrange all the rooms in a classic way? I think not. That is why we make things in transitional style, things that will be appropriate in both classical and modern interiors, ”explains the owner of the house.
