Architect Simone Micheli calls himself a diagnostician. So, having contracted to design the interior in the small town of Oderzo in the Veneto region, before proceeding, he talked with customers for a long time - asked how they lived, what they were interested in. “I almost took my pulse,” he laughs. The main postulate of his work: the space should be customized for a specific person. Up to the point that he measures out at what distance a stove and a dining table should be separated from each other in order to spend a minimum of effort on moving, but there was also where to turn.

In the case of this apartment, Micheli planned the first floor as a single space where the kitchen, dining room and living room are located. And the living room is actually one huge sofa. It is made in the form of a wriggling felt tape, which even comes to the ceiling. So the design as a whole becomes more stable, besides lamps that illuminate this zone and remote speakers from the TV – system are built into the ceiling part. All cabinets, including kitchen modules, are located along the end wall and merge with it. The facades are covered with white glossy varnish. This covering in combination with mirror walls (there are such ones here) creates the feeling of an alien landscape that encompasses a person who first entered this house. The architect says that all customers are to blame: convenience is the main thing for them. Accordingly, the minimum furniture, and it is as functional as possible. Plus, they wanted the interior to resemble crystal, be fresh, airy. Hence the choice of materials. And, of course, all distances were measured out meter by meter. So, even if the hostess really wants to take an extra step, she still will not succeed.
