Alexandra Fedorov: “Our goal was to create a space that, even in the absence of decorative objects, would be interesting, memorable, and whole. The composition of the volumes, which smoothly flow into one another, is a single ensemble. Its filling is constructive and functional objects of geometric shapes. ”
The two-storey mansion in the suburbs of the authors designed for a married couple with two adult children. “Our customers prefer modern style. They saw the weekend house as a free space with an open layout and textured finishing materials, ”Alexandra Fedorova notes. Work began with adjustments to the original layout of the building. On the ground floor, instead of a garage, a guest room was equipped, and the public area was decided as a single space. The living room, kitchen and dining room are located in the volume of the correct square shape, which is adjoined by a glazed veranda. The integrity of the interior is emphasized by the construction of walnut veneer created by the author's drawings. The cupboard above the fireplace and the wall in the kitchen area merge with the decorative wooden panels on the ceiling into one piece and envelop the room with a warm honey color.
In the same vein, organized and space of private apartments of the owners on the second floor. “The idea to connect the bedroom and the bathroom came from the customers. At first, this integrity should have been only visual: it was planned to build a glass partition. But we decided to go ahead and make the room united not nominally, but in fact. As a result, only the shower and the bathroom are insulated with glass, while the bath itself has become a full part of the bedroom, ”says Alexandra. If the interiors of the first floor are dominated by a warm honey shade in combination with dark gray and white, the private master zone is solved in the silver-gray range loved by the customers. The ceiling and floor of the bedroom are decorated with gray parquet flooring, and the surface of the walls and floors in the bathroom has a basalt texture. According to the authors of the project, the use of wood for the decoration of ceilings sets the desired mood of a country house in the interior, emphasizes the difference from urban housing and brings the inner space closer to nature.
Do not interfere with this convergence and characteristic for industrial design materials: concrete, metal sheets, mirrors. On the contrary, their use in combination with natural walnut and oak constitutes an expressive contrast. The headboard of the bed in the entire height of the ceiling is made of matte and soft-touch fabric dark gray panels, which advantageously emphasize the smooth surface of the cube-dressing room and the shine of the mirrors. They are placed on opposite walls exactly at the border of the bathroom and bedroom and form a kind of portal. Mirrors decorated and literally hanging in the air chest of drawers-console, created for this project on the author's drawings. In the hall, the effect of a ladder hovering over the floor was also due to the mirrors that decorated the base of the structure. Contrasting in nature are whole rooms. At the request of her daughter, her bedroom was completely solved in white. Round bed and weightless tulle, flowing along almost the entire surface of the walls, emphasize the tenderness and softness of the interior. In the room's décor of the son, on the contrary, rough concrete walls are shaded with bright accessories, and one of the walls is covered with graffiti.
