From the windows of the apartment offers an impressive view of the Gulf of Finland. The authors of the project not only supported it, but also strengthened the theme of nature in the interior.

Vladislav Volkov: “The huge advantage of the apartment is the transparent outer wall, due to which the boundaries between the exterior and the interior are virtually erased. The landscape here is not just a beautiful view from the window, it subordinates everything around. We decided that the interior should not compete with the natural environment or be neutral, indifferent. We wanted to create a space that would be a logical continuation of nature, existed on the same wavelength with it. For this we used a whole arsenal of techniques characteristic of the bionics style. ”

The apartment is located in a house located in the Kurortny district of St. Petersburg. The main decoration of the apartments is the panorama of the Gulf of Finland. The task of the authors was to preserve the maximum characteristics, the benefit of the apartment is designed for one person and for temporary residence, in case the owner needs to stay outside the city. The designers did not need to split up the space into many separate rooms. Moreover, in the process of reconstruction, most of the existing partitions were demolished — the new layout implied dividing the entire area into only two blocks. The living room, kitchen, dining room and hallway were combined, the bedroom and bathroom also became a single volume (instead of a deaf partition, a sliding glass door appeared here). The absence of isolated zones (in fact, there are only two rooms in the apartment) was enhanced by the presence of nature in the interior: the panoramic glazing is now not only the property of the front part, but also the strength of the bathroom, which is devoid of natural light.

Designers emphasized the connection with nature and the external environment with the help of furniture, lamps and decoration elements. Smooth forms, rounded lines, almost all the objects in this interior are similar to natural outlines, and some imitate objects of living nature altogether. One of the living room walls is decorated with natural stone slabs with a relief structure that resembles either sand dunes or silty seabed. It seems that the boundless water surface outside the window smoothly flowed into the inner space. In the likeness of the water element the most distinguished were the lamps. The authors selected exhibits of modern design, one more beautiful than the other. “Not often there is a space that is so connected with nature,” notes Vladislav. “Considering that this is a country apartment, we wanted to create a special mood and atmosphere in the interior, the imaginative solution of which interacts with the environment. We used the techniques characteristic of the bionics style. This is a light color scheme, where natural natural tones prevail, mainly white color and its shades: milk, beige, ivory, as well as different variations of gray, chocolate. And the individual elements, the form and texture of which are inspired by nature: sea foam, water drops, waterfall, sand ... "
