Although the house is located in the very center of Moscow, the feeling is that you are outside the city. Closed area with a beautiful garden, absolute silence, the air, filled with the smell of grass and leaves. A building in Bolshoi Kislovsky Lane was built in 1929 by architect Sergey Vlasyev. The apartment has kept good baseline data: high ceilings, on an area of 80 square meters - eight windows.

“The customer is a young progressive businesswoman with two children, finding a common language with her was easy,” says designer Kira Korotkova. - She looked at my previous work and said: "I like your style." Her wishes were mainly planning. We removed all partitions, made a new plan from scratch. Bearing columns integrated into the walls, creating rooms of regular rectangular shapes. In a relatively small area, there is a storage room with a laundry room, and two bathrooms, one of which comes from the bedroom, as in a luxurious hotel suite. True, there is no hallway - the living room starts right from the front door. Not all customers will do this, but here the hostess agreed with this decision.

The kitchen is separated into a separate room - when there are two children in the house, cooking is serious. Since there are many windows in the apartment, three of them turned out to be given to the bedroom, and one - to the bathroom. So the planning was successful. I wanted to create something elegant here, in a neutral palette. Such an interior that will last for a long time, without requiring cardinal interventions. At the same time, if the hostess does not like something or gets bored, she can easily replace objects and decor. It is necessary to change the upholstery of the bed - and the bedroom will sound in a new way. Hang a large abstraction or a b / w photo above the sofa - and a completely different mood will arise in the living room. ”

The basis of the interior is sustained in neutral calm shades. “I never use bright open colors, I prefer a complex palette, built on nuances. In my works I prefer to put emphasis on something else: works of art, beautiful objects, rich textures. ”

“I love Art Deco, in this project I tried to create a light version of it,” says Kira. - In addition, I added elements of the Mid-century, which is fashionable today and I have a very close style. It attracts form and proportions - in modern furniture, these two items are often insufficiently developed. I purchased vintage items in Petersburg, in the A Table and Repeat Story stores, as well as in the Moscow Mid-century Hub. But in St. Petersburg, the choice is wider. The hostess was fascinated by vintage, said she would buy herself in the future. Many items are made according to my projects by local carpenters and cabinetmakers. At first, the customer was wary of the fact that we would produce things according to sketches. But as soon as I saw the first results, she gave a carte blanche. ”

Technical equipment of the apartment - at the highest level. The ventilation and air moistening system has been removed from the ceiling. No lattices - only tiny slits in the stucco molding, they are visible if you look closely. In addition to decorative lighting, practical built-in light is used. “I drew attention to this in the works of foreign designers: regardless of the style, even in the very classics, they do not reject the spotlight. We must use the achievements of civilization. " All lamps are equipped with dimmers. Switches made of brass in bronze support the style.
