The author of the project, architect and designer Sergey Makhno says that his projects are compared with art galleries. “We really often use works of art, but at the same time we strive to create residential, not exhibition space,” he assures.

The Mod Apartment is a two-level apartment with an open plan of the first and second floors. They are connected by a light, airy ladder. The architects tried to unload the space, refusing to pile up the details. The interior is designed as simple as possible. Borders between separate rooms are erased. Even between the master bedroom and the bathroom - only a glass partition.

The main building and finishing material was raw concrete. In the kitchen, it was diluted with white. In the living-dining room-TV-room with metal. One of the walls sheathed in copper sheets. The concrete and the metal perfectly harmonize the floors with the ash finish, creating a feeling of warmth, and wooden furniture, matched in tone and combined into a single ensemble with a common color scheme.

The interior fully reflects the tastes of customers. “Our interiors are always in the context of someone’s concrete life, it’s not just a beautiful picture,” says Sergey. - In the case of this project, he likes to read, she likes modern art. So we set up a huge bookcase in the living room - and now it also serves as a library. Here we also placed art objects: a sculpture in the form of a man-drop and bas-reliefs of Nazar Bilyk. ”

The art history of the interior is continued by designer lamps and carpets from the limited collection of Sergey Makhno. They bring Ukrainian identity into the interior. So, Zemlya studio created ceramic lamps in search of the simplest, most visually light artistic form. “We could create art that we would only like to see, but we prefer art in which we like to live,” emphasizes Sergey. Despite the many artistic details, the apartment is equipped with the latest technology that not only provides comfort to its owners, but also helps to preserve natural resources.

The architects paid special attention to the bedroom, personalizing it to the maximum. "Only functional and simple things that help to relax," - says the architect. Completing the composition of the urban landscape, beautifully viewed through the specific windows. Misty Kiev sunrises are especially beautiful here.
