In the ancient Greek language “poly” means “many”, and “morph” - “form”. A polymorphic design is composed of several concepts that differ in their language, but together create a new form. Philippe rethought competing trends: minimalist functionalism, on the one hand, and organic design, on the other, by combining them into a sculptural object made of cherry wood. Circulation: 4 copies.

Philip Aduatz (b. 1982) lives and works in Vienna, creating functional things in limited editions. In his work combines innovative materials and technology with scientific research, traditional craft techniques. He is well acquainted with modern tools: 3D laser scanning and rapid prototyping. Aduatz’s author’s handwriting has largely been influenced by such sculptors as Konstantin Brancusi and Tony Cragg.

The Polymorph Chair was first presented in New York at the ICFF 2017 exhibition at the stand of the Austrian Economic Chamber.
