The chair was created as part of the Offecct Lab program: the company invites various authors to experiment and test materials and ideas. This is the “second” version of the account - initially the chair was carved from Portuguese pink and white Carrara marble.

Anders Englund, manager of the design service Offecct, saw a chair sculpture at an exhibition in 2017, set about trying to change the model into a textile upholstery, and offered cooperation to Emmanuel Babe.

“Our design is exploratory, creative and playful,” says Emmanuel. “The way we work has a lot in common with the artistic process, so it’s natural for us to connect the worlds of art and furniture, and at the same time challenge the boundaries between them.” Leaving the monolithic base chair, he added the ability to rotate the body and put it upholstered in a muted pink color.

“When I started designing a chair, I also thought of the famous Scandinavian furniture of the 1960s in the form of large sinks, with rounded soft shapes. Our mission was to make the chair a friendly, inspiring people to rest while sitting or lying in relaxed, comfortable postures, ”says the designer.
