Cyclicity is seen as a way to achieve goals in terms of climate, and designers solve sustainability issues. They also reflect on how technology is increasingly affecting our lives and are trying to restore the power of the source of technology - man. The theme of trust arises in connection with the abundance of fake news and the impact of Instagram posts.

Works of all winners will be shown during the Dutch Design Week (October 20-28, 2018), then the overall winner of the Future Prize will be announced.

Three projects became winners in the Fashion category.

Joris Suk and Tessa de Boer awarded the prize for the project Maison the Faux - a fictional fashion house, which held a show on the last evening of the 27th Fashion Week in Amsterdam. In their eclectic collection, designers have mixed all the strict rules and patterns. The authors' opinion turned out to be “a gentle reaction to the current state of the fashion world and a wink towards an audience freed enough to move independently through the often limited fashion world.”

Johannes Offerhouse graduated with honors from ArtEZ Fashion Design in Arnhem in 2016 and at the same time won the Frans Molenaar Couture Award for the graduation collection. In 2017, he presented the An Experiment with Parabolas project (“Experiment with Parabolas”). The collection is inspired by mathematical equations and includes five outfits and five artistic installations. The designer believes that clothes that can be worn should not necessarily be the only final product.
