To make the space intended for the entertainment center relevant, to strike a balance between the function of the room, its a priori mass character and good taste, as a rule, is not an easy task. The authors of the concept and design of Moscow bowling "Catapult" in the shopping center "Atrium" (Zemlyanoy Val str., 33), this ratio is observed perfectly. According to the architect Maria Parisheva, who specializes in the design of large club spaces, as well as two Moscow aesthetes restaurateur Arkady Novikov and furniture maker Leonid Zaitsev, the main thing for this site is quality design and lack of pretentiousness. Therefore, in the “Catapult” the light from iGUZZINI and the furniture from Zanotta are easily combined with open communications, red cloth of billiard tables and pockets sheathed with thick leather - with steel cables-partitions. Zoning is almost completely decided by the light - bright on the game tracks and muffled in the bar. The deaf volume of the “Catapult” is as opposed to the light and transparent shopping center in which it is located. The visitor should “feel the difference” from the threshold and tune in to the rhythm of existence, which is different from the hard rhythm of the big city. A city that here only reminds of itself with advertising posters and video projections on the walls - details that are not distracting, rather entertaining.
