Natural stone and wood, a noble restrained palette, straight lines of furniture and ornaments ... Urban chic is one of the main trends of 2011/12

The main color is beige or gray-beige. At the same time, the materials (and textures) should be of the most diverse: smooth, polished travertine surface, high-quality wool upholstery of the sofa, textured finish on the walls. The beige shade is especially good in combination with the color of wenge (black). The furniture lines are straight, they are echoed by geometric patterns of carpets. Bright red accessories, such as vases or pillows, enliven the overall picture.

The work of the famous decorator Kelly Hoppen is a private illustration of the global interior trend. The laconism of the forms, the mutedness of the palette and the luxury of materials are an expression of the extreme exactingness of a business person who is tired of all sorts of noise - information, visual and just the noise of a big city. The owner of such an interior is accustomed to think in categories of expediency, therefore all contrasts and effects are highly restrained.

Designer Kelly Hoppen: “Luxury, as I understand it, is first and foremost comfort. Luxurious interior means comfortable: thoughtful laconic space with pleasant to the touch textures, with unique textures of natural wood and stone. I love straight lines in the interior. I really like the "lower" light - table lamps, floor lamps ... To summarize, straight lines, stone, wood, cozy lighting and individual color accents (for example, red pillows) are my style, my vision of an elegant city apartment. This type of interior will be one of the most sought-after in the luxury segment in 2012. ”
