Sheraton Stockholm is the first Scandinavian and, if taken broader, the first European hotel of the famous hotel chain. Until now, it remains a landmark place for the Swedish capital.

The hotel was opened in 1971. It became the first Sheraton project in Sweden and in Europe as a whole. AOS Arkitekter was responsible for the construction of the building. Architects Algren, Olsson and Silous personally presented their offspring during the opening ceremony, and in particular carried out a 50-pound cake that looked like a scaled copy of their building. The following year, the hotel was visited by the then superstars Roger Moore and Liza Minelli.
