To appreciate the new project of Kharkov architects Oleg Drozdov and Alexander Zhuk is possible only in the dark. When the huge glass facade of the Status boutique (Sumskaya Str., 84) glows yellow and an asymmetrical steel beam flickers with steel, to which the walls of this conceptual aquarium for Prada and Versace are attached. Status’s owns two neighboring buildings from the beginning of the 20th century, the architects used the gap between the houses, the side facades of which were “lost” in any space-planning solution. This is how the expressive entrance zone appeared, which includes three floors. The design of Status was determined by this spectacular move: the opaque areas of the store correspond to the first impression of the building. There are almost no partitions in large volume, and the strict forms of furniture and equipment support a common minimalist solution.
