What was the main thing for you in this cooperation? - Isabella Bonachina - the owner of the company - made me an offer ... I have never designed such things, but the factory has such a solid history and such an impeccable reputation that it was difficult to refuse. The most important thing for me was the very acquaintance with the company. We had to find a common language, understand each other. In my first collection for PIERANTONIO BONACINA, I worked with material that has been used repeatedly by the company, but I tried to look at it from the other side, process it differently, do something new.S: Why is the collection called Rattan mon amour? - Companies like to work with rattan, they love this material, as, indeed, in Italy as a whole, therefore the collection was called Rattan mon amour. Our main goal was to show that everything was done by hand, to create very homely and elegant furniture. In my opinion, rattan has great opportunities, it is surprisingly light and plastic material. Isabella, as I have noticed, generally tries to produce things of original forms. Our collection turned out not to be rectangular, but round, romantic. If we look at the colors of rattan here, we will see olive, brown, sand, purple, and red. These are very good colors for the home, they are not bright and chemical, but natural, soothing. In addition, we introduced varnished surfaces and glass. It would seem that the combination of glass and rattan? You can evaluate the result yourself. In my opinion, it came out gracefully.S: What colors will be in fashion in the next two to three years? - I think it's time to come natural colors: brown, beige, olive, red.S: When you create an item, what do you first think about? About form, about color, about function or about its final cost? - First of all, I think about the material from which the model will be made. Then I think about who will use this model, what emotions my furniture will be able to evoke in the consumer, and what thoughts it brings. And, of course, I always try to understand the thing that I do. It sounds strange, but I do not know how to say it otherwise. I'm trying to figure out if a thing will look like me? Can she express me?S: What things are in your house? - Prototypes. Full house prototypes. And not only their own production, but also invented by other designers. Prototypes - a living embodiment of design ideas, concentrate, not diluted technological capabilities and impossibilities.S: When you make private homes, what is important for you: show your style or create maximum convenience for the customer? - As a rule, my clients already know what they want when they turn to me.
