Hedonists, lovers of art, beautiful things, delicious food and cheerful company, the customers formulated their wishes in a short capacious phrase: “Make us a beautiful apartment,” they asked Elena Dobrovolskaya. It helped that she and the clients know each other well, they have been cooperating for more than 10 years, so their ideas about the beautiful coincided. The starting point was the urban context: the pre-revolutionary house, which survived a major reconstruction, is located in the historical quarter of Kiev.

The interior of the living room is built on contiguous colors. The muted “Scandinavian” blue on the walls visually orders and soothes other, more active shades. The hall and the living room are separated by a copper screen, the numerous planes of which beautifully refract light. It is made according to the sketches of the author of the project. On the floor, the parquet is made of solid oak laid with French Christmas tree. Armchair Nuvola 09, diz. P. Navone for Gervasoni. Stitching and plump shapes give the model a cozy look. Next to the table is the Bell of the Austrian ClassiCon brand designed by Sebastian Herkner - like a precious thing. In the bedroom - a beautiful duet of terracotta and blue in combination with wood: the walls are lined with oak boiserie. Bonaldo bed, Artemide sconce. View from the corridor to the entrance to the office. Guest bathroom. Plumbing Cielo, Axor / Hansgrohe mixers. Lamp Pols Potten. The authors used a restrained, but expressive palette. Wall panels of wood combined with mosaic. The entrance hall. Painting R. Vashkevicha Waterline. Crown, Cassina Nemo Lighting, diz. Jehs + Laub, has already become a design classic.

Both the author and customers agreed to bring the spirit of the city into the interior. Which, in turn, was supposed to be a winning background for modern design and art. They did not reproduce the classics “in pure form”: “Such an approach contradicts my creative vision,” explains Elena. Moldings on the walls and cornices under the ceiling, oak buazeri and parquet laid with herringbone, noble symmetry in the compositions - a tribute to the past. But in lush stucco instead of acanthus leaves - branches of pine, birch, chestnuts and squirrels frolicking on them. Ironic note - as an injection of youth for the old classics.

In the kitchen-dining room, a wall painted in a deep gray color serves as a unifying backdrop. The table of individual production is made of solid wood, chairs Magis, Kartell. Author of the work: A. Roitburd.

The objects are dominated by the architect’s own designs: a cobalt-blue chandelier, a copper screen and a shelving - treasures from which it is impossible to look away. They are combined with furniture of European brands. A well-chosen palette reveals the wealth of natural textures: copper, oak, marble, glass. This interior is not subject to fashion trends, which means it will live a long time. He is beautiful today and will remain so forever.

Elena Dobrovolskaya's recommendations:

Architect Elena Dobrovolskaya. Tatiana Grishkova also participated in the project.

Timeless Of all the current trends in design, Elena Dobrovolskaya is attracted by the desire for eternal values. “For me, this is a harmonious space that is adequate to the person, the surrounding context, the building in which it is located, the epoch and everything that happens here and now. In addition, it is important for me that the interiors live a happy spiritual life with their owners, fill them with their favorite things and grow beautifully old. Like a good wine, over time they would only become more valuable and would only need technical tuning, but not aesthetic. Homes are born, grow up, experience childhood and adolescence, at some point reach maturity. It is important that this happen beautifully. ”

In the bedroom - a beautiful duet of terracotta and blue in combination with wood: the walls are lined with oak boiserie. Bonaldo bed, Artemide sconce.

Priorities “It’s not worth spending huge amounts of money on walls, ceilings and floors,” says Elena. - It is better to invest in objects of art and design, in unique things with history. In the future, they will not lose their relevance and will be able to add additional meanings and legends to the interior. When placing objects of art in the house of naturalness and adequacy - the basic principles. There must be pauses in space, and there is a decorative silence somewhere. It is important to give the opportunity to sound internal architecture. "

The shades of the blue-turquoise segment create a harmonious, but not monotonous composition.

Author's name Elena emphasizes that she is not dependent on brands: she likes items created by specific designers.
