There is nothing more complicated in art than turning to a historical genre. The author always risks hearing an accusation of inaccuracy of one or another detail, factual inaccuracy, etc. Again and again, artists who dare to experiment in this field have to prove the indisputable truth: the past cannot be reconstructed. A work created in the modern era arises and exists according to its laws. There is no trace of archival dust or museum gloss on it. It lives The customers were people who were by no means alien to high art, enthusiastic collectors. The authors of the project had the opportunity, without further ado, to give a precious stone a worthy setting, that is, to go from a finished magnificent entourage to interior design. They chose a more complicated path, which means that they are truly creative: the architecture itself determines the peculiarities of the internal space. First of all, the general style direction was determined. Classicism, according to Dmitry Velichkin, is to some extent universal. By its concise and reasonable clarity of forms, it is not inferior to trendy minimalism. And in terms of emotional impact, undoubtedly, it is superior. Moreover, the richest cultural tradition is associated with classicism. The temple of arts combined with living space is only possible in a classic interior. Entrance space is not a banal hallway. Rather, the grand lobby with all its attributes: columns flanking the entrance, sparkling marble floor, mirrors, double door, behind which, undoubtedly, something even more solemn is hidden. After such preparation, the visitor has the right to expect something accomplished grand. Expectations are fully justified. Instead of the traditional enfilade - a huge room in the living-dining room. A portico on a high podium (elegant Ionic columns and a light pediment) harmoniously separates the space and at the same time serves as its compositional center. “Temple of Niki Apteros,” the architects joke, “Niki is wingless,” a victory that will not fly away from its owner under any circumstances. But excuse me, the gable, resting on the ceiling, is nonsense! Do not actually remove the roof of the house for the sake of the sky blue. And our forever dissatisfied and frowning skies do not look like cloudless heights of Hellas. It would seem that the problem is insoluble. However, according to the apt remark of one of the authors of the project, "The architect is the one who can do everything." The lighting system is designed in such a way that there is an illusion of air glow. And this man-made "sky" -karniz perfectly combines with the traditional front chandelier. Special difficulties were associated with the most unpretentious, at first glance, the subject of the interior. The fireplace, sung by poets, the fireplace, the creator of warmth and comfort, alas, gave way to a new object of worship. The glow of the television screen fascinates no less than ember. But where would you like to place this miracle of technical progress in the classical space, where there shouldn’t be any unnecessary details? I had to build a special niche for him. Times and customs dictate their conditions. "Lush bedroom" - so in the old-fashioned way I want to determine the features of this part of the interior. An indispensable strict symmetry and, again, an outdated, unfortunately, the word - deed. Static, peace, immaculate order. Peculiarities of style require: whatever feelings a person may overwhelm, only the mind directs his actions. Doesn’t it, it sounds not at all old-fashioned. The space of the house is 244 m2. The question of how to fill this majestic emptiness was not at all idle. As a result of the joint efforts of the owners and architects, the appropriate furniture was selected. Its owners, having come to taste, opened their own furniture salon, which is successfully functioning to this day. Another proof that a good idea never remains fruitless.
