The interior of this Moscow house was originally conceived in the style of the Soviet avant-garde of the twenties and thirties. During the design process, the design concept received a radically different, more classical direction. The attention of the authors was attracted by the style characteristic of country houses in southern Italy ...SALON: Natalia, why were you fascinated by the Italian theme, and not by the English classics, for example? S: Was it difficult to select furniture for such a house? - The house is big and I wanted to make it whole. Therefore, we decided to order all the wooden furniture in one firm specializing in the rustic style. We found a very interesting factory, which, according to our designs, produced almost all the furniture: built-in wardrobes, a dining group, boiserie panels and much more.S: The mansion is located in the city, this circumstance somehow influenced the architectural decision? - This house is a historical monument, and we were obliged to preserve its appearance. We restored everything as it was before: the same fence, the same picket fence, the outlines of the main facade, the doors with green transoms. Only a little increased the usable area: a basement appeared, large terraces around the house ... But inside it completely changed both stylistically and functionally. True, the layout we have done is quite standard for any country house. Basement: garage, boiler room, technical rooms, a billiard room with a bar. First floor: large living room with open dining area and kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. On the second floor there is a master bedroom with an office and a guest area with a bathroom and a dressing room. But its most important advantage is its location. You look from the windows: it seems to be a village, but in fact you live in the center of the city.S: The interior has many items and accessories of oriental origin. How clean is the style? - I am generally more attracted to eclecticism, healthy, without kitsch. The style in its pure form is interesting, but it is often necessary to adapt it, to try it on to modern life and the preferences of customers. And it turns out that you can not do without mixing. It is more important to make an interior in which people will live with pleasure, and not an interior in which the author can express himself ... In general, I think we have made a solid, in a good sense, bourgeois house. A house that looks personable and thoroughly, however, like its owner.Natalia Avdeenko: "This interior is reminiscences on the theme of Italy, in which elements of the style characteristic of country houses of southern Italy, castle architecture, oriental motifs are intertwined. There are a lot of natural materials, aged wood, carpets, hides, and old accessories. They create the atmosphere of the house home with a story. "
