SALON: Tell me, what was your role in the project "1812"? - I was, let's say, the ideological inspirer. And the architect is a wonderful theater artist, stage designer Sergey Barkhin.

S: Is everything serious here? - This is, of course, a game. Without this is not interesting. But the game, in my opinion, played out witty and simply brilliantly.

S: What was in this mansion before the restaurant? - An ordinary bank with gray office partitions. The complete reconstruction of the building took several years. In pre-revolutionary times it was a manor. Not far Chekhov House Museum, and in general the most suitable environment.

S: The name of the restaurant is ambivalent. The cuisine can be both Russian and French. Which one do you like more? - Russian. And I will definitely come here after opening.

The history of the mansion itself is unique. Lieutenant General of the Lubensky Regiment M.A. Orlov, the hero of World War II, built a house here and already in 1821 brought a large family into it. In Moscow, he opened his doors wide for friends. Here there were Karamzin and Zhukovsky, Krylov and Vasily Pushkin ... Wonderful dishes and delicious drinks, which were served to General Orlov, were famous all over Moscow. According to the idea of ​​the famous restaurateur Alexander Dvorkin, a new restaurant and "should convey the spirit of the wonderful Alexander Age - heroic and romantic at the same time." The current building of the restaurant "1812" delights with its magnificence and elegant luxury. The entrance to the restaurant is decorated with the banners of the Russian army of the beginning of the XIX century. The majestic halls are decorated with paintings and interior details of that era: the walls are decorated with old medallions, swords, sabers ... In the center of the main hall of the first floor there is a magnificent “fountain cake” made in an Italian factory PAOLO LUCCHETTA. The main materials used in the decoration are oak, bronze and natural marble.

The menu of the restaurant is exclusively Russian. Be sure to try the "Russian salad" of crayfish with salmon and sturgeon caviar, borsch with veal and garlic dumplings, quail with foie gras, blackberry sauce and pears stewed in red wine, and, of course, the brand dessert "1812 year ".
