10 years ago, when the opportunity to order an interior in French style appeared in Russia, the brand Grange immediately became famous. After decades of “interior break”, the style of the French bourgeoisie has again become one of our favorite

It's funny that for a long time the name “Grunge” was perceived as a common noun, synonymous with aristocracy with a touch of antiquity, nobility and innate taste. About the secrets of modern French classics, about the style of Provence, says Mr. Cyriac Drappeau (Cyriaque Drappeau):

“The French style in the interior is the history of France, which is captured in the novels of Dumas, Balzac, and Stendhal ... This is a series of boards, revolutions, ups and downs, victories and defeats. Listen to the names of the collections - “Directory”, “Louis-Philippe”, “Hermitage” ... Each historical style, like a retina, meticulously captured the main points of the story. However, what is now called “French style” in the world is a whole series of historical styles “fused” in one crucible, according to the spirit of our time. For example, in the “Directory” collection there are many nuances to which we owe purely modern trends.

The proportions "length - width - height" are changed in comparison with the epoch of that, historical Directory. Furniture today must be longer and narrower than before. The doors of the chest of drawers have become much wider, it gives a sense of prestige.

Then - painting. Modern technologies and compositions of paints and varnishes gave new expressive possibilities. They did not do that before. Look how a cherry "patina" shines through several layers of deep gray. This is unusually impressive and fresh, at the same time, this technique is perceived by our contemporaries as a sign of antiquity. Paradoxically, but true. On the other hand, the craft remained the same, our masters, like hundreds of years ago, are all made by hand, therefore the charm of antiquity is reasonable. When each item is made by hand, you will not get two identical things, no matter how hard you try. This is all the salt.

The respectable style of the French bourgeoisie is very popular now. Why? Because it gives the interior a “flavor” of exclusivity and artistic value. It is necessary to introduce into the interior in the loft style (an unusually fashionable theme today) even one thing “by Louis XVI design”, as a powerful emotional explosion arises. Eclectic - today's anthem. A variety of bright colors is a new word in the classics. At the time of Louis XVI, wood was not so painted, but silhouettes, forms of that style are now at the cutting edge of fashion. Voilà! ”
