There are things in our life that seem to be always. They are already rooted in it, which are perceived as an integral part of it and at the same time every day they feel like fashionable and modern. So, having learned that soon the half-century famous brand Ralph Lauren Polo (and the collar T-shirt with the same name for more than 40 years) is astonished: really? Although similar clothing was produced in Europe at that time, it was due to the American polo shirt that this type of clothing was fixed to the name “polo”. Entering the people's linguistic memory is the highest "prize", the highest achievement that people can achieve in principle. Although Ralph Lauren, the head of his own fashion empire, "conquered" the whole world, including South Korea and Japan, for nearly 50 years of creative achievements so much that his way looks more like an ascent.

In 1967, he began producing a line of silk ties under the label Polo, and in 1968 he created a line of men's clothing. Even then, approaches are formed and principles are laid that will bring success: the best materials, exclusive cut, free and at the same time respectable style. Not without reason, from 1970 to 1976, he twice became the winner of the prestigious Coty Award — first in the “Men's Clothing” nomination, and then in the “Women's Clothing” nomination. Ralph Loren recalls that his men's collection was the subject of inspiration for women, in which shirts appeared, similar to men's loose elegant trousers, jackets, blazers, vests. And besides, his muse has always been Ricky's wife: Ralph always considered her ability to dress as a reference.

The casual style interpreted by Ralph Loren began to look elegant, respectable and at the same time emphasized freely. He was different from other interpretations of casual. We can say that freedom was the “nerve” of his collections, and this could not help people like it. No wonder Woody Allen, a director with an intellectual reputation, "dressed" the characters of his film "Annie Hall" (1977) into things created by a couturier. (The heroes of the film are played by Diane Keaton, who is very dressed in “men's” clothes, and Woody Allen himself.) Ralph Lauren. An interesting intersection: both the stories — and the screen (Jay Gatsby) and the real life (Ralph Lauren) —about the American dream. Only if Jay is a tragic figure, then the story of Ralph is an example of the most optimistic scenario of realizing the American dream. “I always had a clear vision. I wanted to improve the quality of products and create a whole world around this — Ralph Loren recalls. And that means taking risks, trusting your own intuition and never changing your own views. ” And he really managed to create a whole world, a special lifestyle, a comfortable environment for human life, which has everything — from clothes and perfumes to furniture and bed linen (the full collection of furniture and home accessories Ralph Loren was first released in 1983). The couturier always said that the style in which he works is American, and he proved to the whole world that this style is a synonym for respectability and good taste.

The style is multi-layered and carries the features of the Wild West, the English style (and partly other European styles), and Art Deco, which is significant for America. This denim and leather, jeans and cowboy hats, fur, Scottish cell, club jackets, sleek cut and lace as a tribute to glamor. The collections for the house are the same denim and tartan in upholstery, table lamps with stirrups, leather furniture in the spirit of Art Deco, English (and French) chairs, glamorous chandeliers and accessories made of white metal. The Russian public appreciates the interior style of Ralph Lauren for its inherent respectability, bringing this component to the first place. Many customers ask architects to make them an American-style interior. And if 20 years ago, when the interior market in Russia was just beginning, the customer could hear in response: “There is no such style”, but today the architects themselves promote it.
