Hotel Hôtel des Trois Couronnes is a legendary place. The Russian Empress Alexandra Feodorovna spent her winter here, the spouse of Nicholas I, Camille Saint-Saëns gave piano concerts, and Charles Gounod worked on the opera “Faust”. The hotel guestbook is replete with the names of royals and Arab sheikhs. The list also includes Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky (the most luxurious hotel room named Tchaikovsky suite), actor Peter Ustinov and musician Pablo Casals (they also have their own suites), as well as Helmut Newton, Anthony Hopkins and many others.
The history of the hotel began in the 1840s, when the enterprising businessman Gabriel Monet bought an old estate that existed here from the 14th century and turned it into a hotel. Subsequently, the owners changed, but the purpose of the building remained the same. Now it is one of the three oldest hotels in Switzerland. The historical appearance of the building in the belle époque style was tried to be maintained during the last reconstruction. The rooms are decorated in bright colors, many have terraces with views of Lake Geneva and the mountain peaks.
The restaurant of the hotel, which is a ceremonial hall with frescoes in pastel colors and elegant high windows, also preserves the atmosphere of the XIX century. In summer, you can spend evenings in the Veranda Bar (note: there is a fine selection of long drinks here). The restaurant serves French cuisine, there is both Japanese and diet menu, designed for those who pass the SPA-course. SPA center Puressens is a special pride of the hotel. The center's know-how is the therapeutic procedures developed by the French biochemist Joel Siocco. They are “prescribed” individually, depending on the characteristic features of the skin.
