It was a beautiful place not far from the Gulf of Finland, in the bend of the Sestra River, which bends around a high steep cape. There was a small stone house built by the owners more than ten years ago. Customers offered Sergei Erofeev "to think what can be done." Sergey’s thoughts took the form of a concept, and the concept became a new homeConcept Inside a fairly rational and clear structure of the house, where private rooms are located on the second floor, and the first floor is entirely given to the front public area, the moment of alternative plays a crucial role. A person everywhere is free to choose between intimate seclusion and open communication with the outside world. Elements such as glazed walls or "rotunda", covered with a transparent multi-faceted tent, actively "let in" the surrounding nature inside the house, and the person himself is "pulled" out of safe walls into open spaces. But then these bright volumes with breakthroughs in the sky turn into lower and darker rooms with cozy soft furniture and ceilings of the usual “human” height. Such a neighborhood in addition to choice gives a complex balance of opposites within the whole.Environment The very nature and location of the site largely determined the nature of the premises. “Already in the process of disassembling an old house, we noted where it would be nice to arrange a glazed wall or veranda, which opens a view of the river, and where a cozy study or bedroom,” recalls Sergey Yerofeyev. Depending on the time of day, different comfortable corners appear in the house. One of these places is the terrace on the roof of the swimming pool located in the basement of the old outbuilding. In the flat ceiling of the pool, the lantern is “pierced”, and on top of it it is covered with another glass tent. In the evening and at night, when the light in the pool is lit, this transparent pyramid is perceived as a huge lamp mounted on the roof terrace.Material Of course, in a country house, preference was given to natural materials, but this “naturalness” was not an end in itself, a stumbling block. “Somewhere we were repelled by concrete tactile sensations,” says the architect. “For example, it should be pleasant to walk barefoot on a plank floor or on flat, rough pebbles. Although we sometimes refused natural materials. planned stone, but in the design process it became clear that the stone (the material is actively acting) will only distract from the main thing - the space of the house and its surrounding nature. Therefore, they put a neutral monochromatic ceramic tile. it was a game of texture, its variability. We used different types of decorative plaster, giving a sandy or just a rough surface. "texture: grains of sand, bumps. This is also a kind of choice and freedom of visual impressions."Sergey Erofeev: "In this country house, we did not strive to beat the folklore" village "motifs. On the contrary, most of the interiors are solved in a modern way. Not decoration, but a variety of spaces became the main theme of the project."
