Hotelier Lucien Barrier was one of the first visionaries who discovered the Cote d'Azur in Europe. In many ways, with its filing, Cannes and Deauville, where the first hotels of the Barrière chain were, turned into luxurious resorts. The case was inherited by his daughter Diana, who gave the legendary hotels a modern gloss. Nowadays the business is run by her spouse Dominic Dessen. Hotel Le Majestic is ideally located: opposite the Palais des Festivals, on the main Cannes promenade — the Croisette, next to the Dior and Chanel boutiques. For this hot time, rooms must be booked for at least six months. The hotel’s restaurants — La Petite Maison de Nicole and Le Fouquet’s Cannes — are close by, but the cuisine is different.
