Despite the widespread triumph of cynicism, humanity is still dominated by romance. At least, that part of him that was fortunate enough to be born in a seaside town. And if this is the city of St. Petersburg, then the number of romantic-minded citizens per capita increases exponentially. An example of this is the new interior of the Sea Wolf restaurant (17, Maly Avenue, Vasilievsky Island). The authors of the project did not dissect the maritime theme with the anatomical meticulousness. They approached her with the degree of convention that is peculiar to children. Restaurant visitors are immediately involved in the game. So, passing by the bar, they get into the cabin of the pirate ship. The simple decoration of the interior leaves no doubt as to the designation of the ship: the dominant alarming orange color, trophies and the black flag on the wall are the lair of the robber resting after a good deal. Long, as in a pub, the tables invariably attract large companies. Wood paneling gives the walls a resemblance to the ship’s sides and is designed to soften the blows when rolling begins. But the sea is insidious and unpredictable: sometimes only one gust of wind separates the beautiful from the terrible. However, along with the ninth wave, the sea romance does not disappear, it just takes on a different dimension. The miniature model of the underwater world is recreated in the next room. Everything here is mixed up, there is no longer the usual system of coordinates, there is an eternal darkness and the rare rays of the sun penetrating the water column. The metal on the walls and shutters gleams dully, like the side of a submarine lying on the ocean floor. Items that have lost their purpose, master new roles. Thus, an old life buoy or a piece of skin is turned into tables and thus becomes useful objects, a "shelter" for the inhabitants of the ship (do we need to say that visitors who peacefully drink their beer and are not aware of the danger act as the latter?) . And you do not need to have too much imagination to understand: there is not much difference between those who are above and who are under water. There are different points of view, and only on this depends who in this world should be considered the loser, and whom - the winner in the eternal struggle with the elements.
