More than half a century ago, the Pompeo and Vittorio Cavalli brothers opened a furniture factory in Zola – Predosa (near Bologna).

More specifically, it happened in 1958. At first, the IPE factory produced only sofas. The brothers' affairs went uphill when they decided to use polyurethane, a revolutionary material for those years, for packing (in Italy it was then used in the automotive industry — in the manufacture of seats for Lancia cars). Soft and very durable, it made a competition to traditional stuffing: springs, horsehair, feather. In the seventies of the twentieth century, the son of Vittorio — Luigi — joined the management of the family company, and in the late nineties — the children of Luigi — Leopoldo and Eleonore. Each generation something radically changed, made some kind of a breakthrough.

So, for the first time, Luigi Cavalli thought about creating furniture collections and brought IPE CAVALLI to the international level, while Eleanor and her brother went even further and offered to think with integral interior concepts rather than collections. On this idea, in fact, builds the brand VISIONNAIRE (launched about 10 years ago). So, at the last exhibition in Milan, the Cavalli family presented the concept of a certain Victorian manor. In it, according to the creators, our contemporaries live — descendants of those who once built this estate. The interior has been designed in detail — from the living room to the bathroom, from the flooring (windsor marbled tiles) to chandeliers and wall lamps. All — made in Italy.
