Work on the Lazy-Z lasted almost a year. But, according to the owner, the expectations were justified. Even today, after several years, a cruising yacht delights guests not only with its excellent navigational qualities, but also extraordinary comfort The secret to the success of Lazy-Z, which was created by the shipbuilding company OCEANCO, is precisely in the fact that both qualities - technicality and aesthetics - form an ideal syncretism. This is understandable, since the architectural bureau Hugh Newell Jacobsen worked on the interiors of the yacht. The tone is set by two salons located aft. Brown gamma prevails here, represented in a wide range. In furniture and decoration, preference is given to natural materials: sisal, flax, wood with an identified texture. Despite the fact that the various elements are made of several types of wood, they do not discord with each other. However, cherry, beech, walnut root and wenge palm are generally very beautiful - all together and each "grade" of a tree separately. The simplicity of the lines is compensated by the harmony of proportions and discreet luxury materials. In some subjects, a subtle Japanese is discernible, but it is not supported by anything and does not develop into an independent topic. As the classics, manifested in the drawing of a complex platband of cherries and in the silhouette of the columns next to the stairs. In turn, the columns, "sprouted" up on two floors, are more like bamboo stalks than an element of architecture. Yacht Lazy-Z perfectly adapted for long navigation. 165 feet long and 31 meters wide, the ship can reach speeds of up to fifteen knots. There are several bedrooms, decorated quite conservatively. Two bedrooms form a single complex with a common hall (it is a study, it is also a small living room). Both are in warm beige and brown tones. In the office the same range complements the pearl gray color of the upholstery of the sofas. Furniture in the office deserves a separate discussion. In the bow there is a complex spatial structure: two round podiums with sofas standing on them are connected by a semicircular table top and form a desktop. These objects create three autonomous territories: two recreation areas and the actual office. But thanks to the correctly found proportions, objects are perceived as a single composition, endowed with a multitude of functions and at the same time filled with harmony. Transparent, somewhat blurry colors resemble the gleam of rays at sunset. This feeling is further enhanced by pearl-like birch streaks (it is from this material that wooden elements are made). As decorative strokes, there are a few brass details. Particularly good original lamps in the style of Art Deco, made in a single copy. Interiors Lazy-Z may well serve as an example to follow. Their intrinsic dignity has nothing to do with the flashy luxury of the nouveau riche. But it is precisely in this that the true taste for life and freedom from stereotypes are guessed. We should not forget what the name of the yacht means: leisure on a beautiful yacht with a playful name "Lenivitsa" will cost the tenant nearly two hundred thousand dollars per week. Seven days of bliss, pleasant idleness and heavenly repose. You can share this pleasure with the whole company. On the yacht there is such an opportunity: three royal suites, six personal cabins. And a great crew of twelve people.
