Since the task was to make an apartment for two, we decided to create a coherent multifunctional space with a minimum of internal borders. The premise is conditionally divided in half - into a private part and a public

The private part, contrary to the usual practice of zoning (doors, partitions, corridors) is not separated from the rest of the apartment. The border is very conditional - instead of doors and partitions, the bedroom is visually separated by a transparent glass column in the hall. The column is the central compositional element of the whole apartment - it is located at the intersection of paths from the private to the public zone, it can be seen from all the main points of the space. Therefore, the roles that it plays in space are several. In the event that the owners, while in the bedroom, want to create a more intimate setting, there is a waterfall mode: water, “surrounding” the glass, makes it opaque and thus creates a barrier effect, a border. If the water mode is turned off, the transparent column, inside of which a small greenhouse is placed, becomes the unifying element of the flowing spaces.

From the point of view of color gamut warm, calm colors prevail. At the same time, on a calm basis - a brown-beige background - every now and then there are emotional decorative accents. This includes metallized plaster in the hall, and hypertrophied large bright flower mosaic ornament in the guest bathroom, and a mosaic panel depicting the Florentine basilica in the bedroom ... Hyperbola, palace techniques for creating the interior, playing with the scale are the distinctive features of this project. “We always try to create a space that looks more like a country house than an apartment,” says Dmitry Kulish. - In this apartment, due to a good open plan, everything else turned out: we managed to design the interior of a city apartment, while remaining within the framework of the ideology of a respectable country house. We placed exquisite large-scale furniture (sofas from GIORGETTIhuge kitchen from MINOTTIwhich does not fit in any mansion). Another example: the bathroom is located in the zone as open as possible to the world. It is practically not fenced off from the bedroom - there is no door in the true sense of the word, there is only a light partition in the bedroom that does not reach the ceiling. That is, the spaces are maximally united and delimited only symbolically. On the other hand, the continuous glazing in the bathroom made it possible to make the border with the street also very conditional: from the bathroom you can go directly to the balcony - a technique that is also typical for country life on your own site. space - comfort, which protects from the hard, intense rhythm of the city.

Dmitry Kulish: “We usually strive to create not just an apartment with a set of rooms, but a kind of structure with open, interconnected volumes. One space flows into another. Decorative solutions, therefore, also“ flow ”, speak the same language for the whole interior. - stone, wood, glass - both color and light "

Anna Karpova: “We added decorative emotions and impressions to the traditional respectable style of our architectural bureau, as we call it, in this interior. Romantics can be said so. It softens the solid character of the interior and balances it”
