The interior of this Moscow apartment was formed by the authors of the project under the impression of the film The Great Gatsby.

Irina Malkova: “In my work I follow the phrase, once heard:“ There is no big fashion now. ” There is no so-called trend. In my opinion, modern man does not need to chase anything - neither for fashionable color, nor for form, nor for style. Choose what you like, create your personal, home, small fashion ... I did this interior for myself, therefore it is difficult to characterize the apartment style in one word. This is a mix of all that and what I love. This is, of course, both art-deco and modern art, there are many items brought from Art Basel Miami — America’s largest contemporary art gallery. ”

Designer Irina Malkova tells: “For me, design is the quality of life. Good design has little to do with fashion trends. The designer should strive to do more than just invent a thing, combine objects or pick up textures. Design is an idea when a whole world is born from a small story ... So it was with this apartment. I was impressed by the watched movie (then “The Great Gatsby” went with Leonardo DiCaprio) and fell in love with the interiors, the clothes of the characters, everything, everything, and when I saw the carpet in the main bedroom, I realized that it was the very idea, the very image that I was looking for a long time. Whether it is a coincidence or not, but then I was presented with two paintings by the artist, our wonderful contemporary Andrei Sharov - “Al Pacino” and “Sophia Loren”. The theme of cinema appeared again ... Gradually, the interior began to emerge, assemble like a puzzle. ”

“The space of the apartment was formed by combining two apartments,” continues the architect – designer Lyudmila Lyashenko. “There are two children of different age and sex in the family: one child is a schoolboy, the second is a chest child. Therefore, the task was to maximally dissolve children's rooms (children have their own regimes) and so that each family member had the opportunity to retire. All private rooms are designed as a separate, self-sufficient territory, each bedroom has its own bathroom and dressing room. The center of the apartment was a spacious living-dining room, where the whole family gathers and spends time together. ”

The main emphasis in the interior is on the author's things created by an individual project. “The countdown begins with a hall decorated with three shades of bird's-eye maple panels,” Irina continues. cabinets for appliances and books. By the way, about the technology: all processes in the house are automated and controlled by the "smart home" system. For modern housing, technical equipment is an integral part of the project, according to which one can judge the level of the interior. Most of the furniture is decorated with fabrics that we have selected specifically. For example, we upholstered MAXALTO chairs with my favorite HERMÈS fabric, and a wardrobe in the bedroom — ZOFFANY silk. According to our order at the factory, the doors were closed to them — it came out very nicely. The cabinet dissolved in space, we achieved the effect of beautiful silk walls. In general, for me, a good interior is what has been done, firstly, with high quality, and secondly, with quality materials. Flax, silk, leather, marble, expensive woods ... All these materials, which from ancient times were considered luxurious, remain so now. "
