Architect Olga Tymyanskaya:

"I wanted to create a feeling of being outside the city in this interior. I decided to give some details a deliberate massiveness. For example, I let a false wood floor made of natural wood (the upper level of the window was noticeably lower). I hung the curtain on a massive cornice, made a weighty a chimney shelf, a rather rough fireplace design with a stone — all these are signs of a chalet style. A certain space implies a certain behavior. A chalet-style house is a place where people feel free. a cozy, comfortable interior. The house (like many similar houses in Europe) was formed over time. Suppose the current owners of the chalet inherited it from their parents, and some things were preserved from the grandmother, others came from the grandfather. It’s time and memory imprint. New objects also participate in this interior history, and they are so skillfully blended that it is difficult to determine which of them are new and which are antique. I used only natural materials: wood, stone. As a fabric for curtains, I took flax with embroidery. All rags in such a house should be homemade, hand-made. In general, in the textures, and in the palette there is a feeling of pripylennosti. This is intended because it is not a crunchy interior for glossy dandies. "
