The bedroom from the Waves collection is a modern poetic version of ar-nouveau. What is more important in working with historical styles — stick to the canon or fantasize? This is reflected in Francesco and Fabiana Riva, the owners of the Rivatelier factory.

Francesco Riva: “I am for creative imagination! At the same time I prefer to “grow” fantasy things on a classic base. This method can give a great result. Such as, for example, this bedroom. In its flexible, flowing lines, the style of the end of the nineteenth — early twentieth century — ar-nouveau — is recognizable. And at the same time, their graphics do not resemble the characteristic modernist style stroke, similar to the blow of a whip. There is no such pathos. The lines are soft, rounded, calm. Details of the decor, hand-carved from a nut, as if embracing the headboard of the bed, covered with silk, and bedside tables. No wonder we called this collection of furniture Waves— “Waves”. I appreciate her for her rare visual comfort, for her romantic image. ” Fabiana Riva: “Pay attention to the corrugated pattern on the surface of the bedside tables and the frame of the mirror, which looks so elegant in the finishing with silver sheet. This is a reference to the era of Art Deco, which soon met the modern era. And here they met in one piece of furniture, conveying the feeling of a living, pulsating time. ”
