Initially, the cabinet was called a small cabinet with books, papers and bureau functions. Over time, the name has spread throughout the room. Such a workspace with a desk and bookshelves, complemented by a fireplace and a sofa, very soon found its canonical features, becoming certainly a male territory in the house. Despite the conservative approach to the interior, each office reflected the characteristics of the host’s personality, his type of activity or hobbies. Although now, unlike in previous centuries, the genre of home offices itself does not imply attributes from the professional sphere, and the status of exclusively male space has been lost. This place is rather for intellectual rest, thoughts and conversations.
