The village of Stepantsminda was formerly called Kazbegi (in honor of the Georgian writer Alexander Kazbegi, who was from these places). In Soviet times, the party elite came here for treatment. Actually, the former sanatorium of the Central Committee turned into Rooms Hotel Kazbegi due to the efforts of Nata Yanberidze and Katia Toloraya (design-studio Adjara Arch Group). They preserved what was originally laid in the building: the building is oriented so that from most of the rooms there is a breathtaking view of the mountains, and above all the main one — the five thousand meter Kazbek. The architects enhanced this effect with large (panoramic) windows and an open floor plan of the first floor — with a lobby, lounge, bar and restaurant from where you can go to the terrace.
The decor is made up of vintage furniture in half with designer and complemented by a no less cosmopolitan selection of accessories. After a whole day spent in the air (on a horse ride or flying a paraglider), I want to come back here! Including to try the real Georgian cuisine performed by the chef of the hotel. By the way, you can learn yourself: the chef gives master classes.
