Asian orchids are associated with spring. Indeed, according to the lunar calendar, the seasons change just at the time of their flowering. Europeans were struck by orchids in the 18th century. They were bred, protected. In the Victorian era, the orchid became the symbol of the fragile femininity. They are usually given to creative people: they are believed to awaken the imagination. Designers were fascinated by their image: bright, spectacular flowers adorn textiles, porcelain and furniture. They will add a touch of mystery to the interior. Or relaxation: it is no coincidence that the ancient Chinese saw in them a symbol of the harmony found. The young dreamer will also enjoy the Orchids sculpture by LLADRÓ: delicate inflorescences are fashioned with such skill that they seem to be alive. VISIONNAIRE and MISSONI HOME have magnificent flower carpets. Roberto Cavalli, an apologist for everything exotic, has included bright prints with orchids in his collection of bed linen. Werner Eislinger, on the other hand, is a purist, but his Juli Jubilee chair is upholstered in a fabric with a tropical print. After all, this design — bright, summer, vacation — is what I like.
