In this apartment, thin stylization is adjacent to antiquarian antiquity, decorative with respectable restraint. The authors of the project tell how the whole image was formed from different components.
Installation on a retro was given from the very beginning - so the customers wanted, - says Maxim Doroshko. - It only remained to determine the style. Our proposal to take as a basis Art Deco - the most spectacular and up-to-date of all the retrospective styles - did not meet any objections. Of course, we were not going to literally follow some historical patterns (we just wanted to dream up on the subject). Ultimately, however, the presence of mind Art Deco in the project was very noticeable. The very space of the apartment turned out quite ardekoshny - with an open central hall, around which the main rooms are grouped, with semicircular walls-scenes, meeting at the entrance, with a certain theatricality of interiors.
Addiction Art Deco to graphic contrast manifested itself in the decoration of the walls of the hall: here the "grid" of dark brown wenge seemed to be superimposed on the light maple wood. Traction to luxury - in the use of gilding, smalt, unique fabrics, Venetian plaster with a deep pearl shimmer and expensive woods (rosewood). Unusual approach to the material - in the application of leather for facing floors (bedroom) and in the decoration of cabinet furniture ...
But there are also quite noticeable paraphrases in this apartment. Art Nouveau: a picturesque frieze with peacocks in the kitchen, wrought brass grilles, copying (albeit at ease) Shekhtel samples from the Ryabushinsky house. Moreover, there are English motives Victorian eclecticism (checkered floors, walls covered with velvet), and elements of European "Chinese" that have penetrated into the interiors of the private zone. It can be said that based on Art Deco has formed a kind of decorative mix from the styles of the beginning of the last century ... "
"Of course, the claimed retro-stylistics demanded the formation of a special atmosphere," says Irina Volynskaya. - In order to imitate the patina of time, we used complex rough textures, juicy, but somewhat muted paint (say, gold, which was revetted on part of the walls, was etched with a special compound to avoid excessive brilliance), artificial craquels on the tree ... By the way, in the work on Wednesday we were actively helped by the owners, who collected a whole collection of old paintings and antiques specifically for this apartment. Decorative porcelain, watches (including Art Deco), miniature bronze gizmos, tableware - all this brought with it the aroma of authentic antiquity, which we imitated by modern means. As a result of our common efforts, the apartment turned out to be decorative, a little theatrical, but not fake, and, as it seems to us, really similar to the interiors of the beginning of the last century. "
Maxim Doroshko:"In this project, the main task was not to competently imitate ar deko or ar nouveau, and in that, freely using their means, to synthesize the very feeling of antiquity. It seems that we managed to do it ... And thanks in large part to the customers who worked with us, they filled the apartment with things, themselves stimulated some interesting solutions, without fear of experimentation. Such cooperation could not fail to result. "
