Андреа Далль'Олио (Andrea Dall'Olio) calls himself an architect, decorator and stylist. At the same time he does a lot of things: he publishes books on trends in the field of design, invents the collections of Pret-a-Porter, makes designer furniture. Works internationally, mainly in Italy and France. Especially popular in Belgium and the United States. Collaborates with many companies, but especially long and fruitfully - with FLOU. WITH COLOMBOSTILE - two years. Last year, they made their booth at the Milan Furniture Salon; in this, he invented a new collection of furniture for themSALON: How did it happen that it was you who was offered to make a new collection for COLOMBOSTILE? - At the exhibition Macef, where I presented modern trends, was attended by one of the owners of the company COLOMBOSTILE. He liked my style. After the exhibition, he called me and offered to work together. A year ago, the company invited me to make a stand at the Milan exhibition. And this year I came up with a new collection of furniture for them.S: Tell me about it. - Actually, there are two collections: upholstered furniture and fabrics. I also slightly changed the things from past collections, making them softer. All that is in the new collection of furniture, made of cloth or covered with cloth. Even the legs of the chairs. Due to the fact that other materials are not visible, this furniture is easily combined with antiques. Another important idea is the Haute Couture boiserie.S: You hang fabrics on the walls, put them on the floor, make them furniture. Is it too much tissue? - I think no. In my opinion, such a concept has the right to exist. Fabrics are the main trend of the new lifestyle. With the help of textiles, you can change the color of rooms, create new spaces ... In addition, it gives a feeling of home.S: Where did the idea to make boiserie come from? - I think that works of art, unique things, valuable things are valued now. This trend reflects the desire of people to make the house more individual. The boiserie created by me is the development of this idea.S: What is your favorite style? - I would call it modern baroque. The phrase looks contradictory, but the synthesis of conflicting things. It seems to me that he creates a new harmony.S: Do you always work in this style? - Of course not. I can work in different styles. A good designer is distinguished precisely by the fact that he can not only express himself, but also embody what customers want from him. I think I could make the interior even in futuristic style. The only thing I can say for sure is that I am not a minimalist.S: And what is the balance for you? - Depends on the identity of the client. It is better to make a baroque accent in a minimalist interior. For example, a baroque chair with a minimalist sofa. Or a minimalist top with a baroque base. Synthesis of opposites - part of the modern mentality.S: What do you think is more important now - fashion or design? - Fashion is developing much faster. This is the most advanced area in modern culture. It is she who gives rise to all trends. But, of course, from the point of view of business, the interior is more important at the moment.S: Why? “Because something is appearing in fashion this year, and the next one is already disappearing.” Investments in the interior more durable.S: You work in both areas. Do you perceive yourself more as an interior designer or as a couturier? - Rather, the first.S: Do you have a favorite couturier? - Yes, Dris Van Notten.S: Architect? - Jean Nouvel.S: Designer? - Philip Stark. He translated the forms of the past into the forms of the future. This is a great idea, because our main task is to sum up the experience of the past to present it in a more modern form.S: What does your own house look like? - Very modern.
