According to The Architectural Review and Architects ’Journal, Sandra Barclay became the architect of the year for women.

The Paracas National Reserve, with an area of over 335 thousand hectares, is the world's largest conservation area, but building a museum here is, at first glance, insane. The desert peninsula is a continuation of the driest in the world of the Atacama desert, a region practically uninhabitable. However, it was here, in 1928, the archaeologist Julio Tello made a sensational discovery, finding a necropolis with mummies and skulls of an unusual elongated shape, fragments of costumes and life related to the culture of Paracas (from 750 to 100 BC). The results of the excavations were the basis of the Archaeological Museum of Paracas.
Award of £ 10,000. (about $ 14,000) Sandra Barclay was presented at the beginning of March 2018 at the Claridge's London Hotel, where the other woman architect Amanda Livit had taken her Jane Drew Prize 2018 the day before.
