Crockery. White porcelain Bona China. Crockery Basalt.

Gallery Designer Max Lamb created for the British brand 1882 Ltd. a series of textured tableware. The new collection is a rethought version of the Crockery series, invented by a designer for the same brand five years ago. Cups, jugs and bowls, deliberately rough, crumpled outside and smooth from the inside, were made of white porcelain. The new version has become even more brutal, in the spirit of the current Wild trend. The dishes, which seemed to be hewn out of stone, were poured out of molten basalt. The mold for casting, as for the first time, was cut out manually. • From $ 240 for a porcelain mug.

Studio Nendo, led by the Japanese Oki Sato, in 2017 produced a project together with the Sevres Porcelain Manufactory. The manufactory has been known since the 18th century and is closely connected with the history of the French monarchy. Craftsmen create porcelain thin, dense, with a uniform surface, publishing a melodious ringing with a light tapping. That sound was the starting point for the Suzu series (from Jap. "Bell"). Under the lids of containers that resemble serving dishes, small porcelain disks are hidden on a movable mount. Each time you raise or lower the lid you hear a slight jingle. There are five models to choose from: differences in shape and size provide each individual sound. The covers are painted in “royal” blue - Bleu de Roi is the signature color of the Sevres manufactory. • Price on request (artsy.net)
