The brand MGallery by Sofitel, owned by the AccorHotels group, has opened a new address in Europe. The interiors of the Hôtel Le Louis Versailles Château were designed by the Russian bureau of the Sundukovy Sisters under the direction of Irina and Olga Sundukovykh.
By topic: New Year in Europe. 7 design hotels opened in 2017
The four-star boutique hotel is located in the most expensive city of France - Versailles, 200 meters from the famous royal palace. The building was built for the military department of Napoleon III in 1854 and by the XXI century many alterations were undergone. According to Nicolas Arnoul, managing director of Pullman Ile-de-France, this project, which required an investment of several million euros, is completing the update program of six “pullmans” in the Paris region with the highest quality standards themselves. The hotel is focused on Parisian business during the week and on VIP tourists on weekends. Four floors accommodate 152 rooms, including 7 suites; restaurant-bar and 9 conference rooms. Room rates: from 200 to 500 euros per day.
Among the features of the project, Sundukov’s sisters cite an extremely limited budget and implementation timeline.
The Sundukov sisters offered an eclectic interior with inevitable references to the era of the "Sun King", the royal park and the palace. The chandelier in the hotel’s bar under the glass roof and mirrored sconces scatter rays of light throughout, dark green velvet shades and stylized wallpapers reminiscent of nearby Greenhouse gardens and park sculpture. Herringbone French parquet, marble bathrooms and carpets, Marie Antoinette, Elle et Louis and Le Roi Soleil signature cocktails will not let you forget about the Bourbon dynasty, Louis and his many favorites.
The company of the Sundukov sisters, founded in 2004, is one of the most dynamically developing design firms in the Russian market. The Sundukovs began to receive education at home in Chelyabinsk, continued at the Ural State Academy of Architecture and Art in Yekaterinburg, and completed in Moscow. The Sundukovy Sisters company sold dozens of wine shops and boutiques, designed the strip office club Office, the main office of Interkommerts Bank and its branches throughout Russia, and also became the authors of many restaurants and cafes, including Moscow lawyer and restaurateur Alexander Rappoport, restaurateurs Arkady Novikov (“Cheese Factory”) and Alexander Oganezov (Remy Kitchen Bakery). Since 2013, the Sundukovy Sisters began working with the largest hotel chains: Hilton, Rezidor, InterContinental Hotel Group IHG. For AccorHotels, they created Ibis Tbilisi and completed the 2017 Pullman Berlin Schweizerhof project.
