Classic stucco decor in the interior of this apartment is combined with avant-garde furniture. Architect Sergey Makhno I wanted in this way to achieve similarities with the Parisian apartments and their eclectic design
Working on this apartment, Kiev architect Sergey Makhno pushed away only from his personal preferences in design. He did it for himself and his wife, and the greatest pleasure for him was that he worked without any instructions and restrictions from customers. “My wife and I tried to create a cheerful, spring mood, I wanted to make an interior that would be perceived easily,” says the architect.
The style in which the apartment is decorated Sergey Makhno He calls his name, but the basis for it was the so-called Parisian style. It is eclectic, in which the most different epochs, materials and decorative methods are boldly mixed up. The ceilings and walls in the apartment are decorated with fine stucco, characteristic of the interiors in a classic style, the chandeliers are suspended from gypsum ceiling sockets. But, on the other hand, in this retro-entourage there is absolutely modern, sometimes even avant-garde furniture. Most interior items are created according to the designs of the architect and his wife. This is a wardrobe in the bedroom, a kitchen, a dresser and lamps in the living room, a glass kitchen table placed on a metal base, the geometry of which resembles the shape of lamps. In addition, Sergei wanted to fit his collection of art objects in this apartment. All of them got into the interior and play an important role in maintaining the image of the apartments.
Here you can find a great many statuettes, decorations. They make the apartment look like a small museum. Many of them were bought in antique shops in Kiev, in the flea markets of Europe and Asia. Well, for the walls were used paintings and drawings that were created by the architect, his wife and famous Ukrainian artists.
Project author Sergey Makhno: “I really like the Parisian apartments, in which the walls are decorated with stucco decoration, but the furnishings are modern. We painted the walls in neutral gray - not too dark, not too light. It was the perfect backdrop for the bright art from my collection. ”
