Steininger: the kitchen in the style of "nano"

Austrian company Steininger, following the current trend, has created an outdoor kitchen - this is the first brand development in this segment. The novelty, called Rock Air, was presented at the EuroCucina exhibition as part of the Milan Furniture Salon.

Key characteristics of the model: extremely reduced design and the most advanced materials to date. The shell is made of stainless steel in anthracite color, an innovative glass-ceramic coating created on the basis of nanotechnology is applied on top. It resists splashes of seawater, sub-zero temperatures and other vagaries of the elements - Rock Air differs in its superstability to the harsh climatic conditions from similar developments of other brands. “We wanted to prove that cooking on the street can be done anywhere, anytime,” says brand designer and owner Martin Steininger. Impressive and inherent functionality of the kitchen. From the proposed modules, the consumer can make an individual set: a choice of gas stoves with various types of burners (optional teppan-yaki roaster or lava grill), sink, dishwasher, refrigerator and freezer with icemaker, storage volumes plus gas-operated, remotely controlled bake. The patented mechanism allows the covers of individual blocks to be pushed back in such a way that a bar counter is formed.

"We wanted to prove that you can cook on the street anywhere at any time"

To confirm the reliability of Rock Air, the creators conducted a survey in the Alps, in the Ziller Valley at –15 ° C. Rock Air blocks are made of steel with a nanotechnological protective coating, available in both matte and polished to a mirror finish.

The basis for the outdoor model was the previously released, highly successful Rock kitchen, which Italian guru Alberto Minotti worked with Martin Steininger on. "We were attracted to create a thing of absolute beauty, eternal, without a limited" shelf life, "emphasizes Minotti. The cubes are finished with stone slabs only 6 mm thick, and thanks to the excellent quality of processing they look carved out of a solid block. Experts have identified the model as the perfect combination of Italian design and craftsmanship of Austrian artisans.

The outdoor Rock Air model was based on the Rock Kitchen, which won the German Design Award 2016. The creators define it as an homage to the minimalist sculptor Donald Judd. In the background, another brand development is Wall. This is what Wall looks like when the doors are wide open. Behind smooth deaf facades hides all kitchen equipment.
