The Spanish hotel chain Room Mate Hotels, founded in 2005 by Enrique Sarasola, is developing incredibly fast. It includes two dozen hotels in Mexico City, Istanbul, New York, Barcelona, Madrid, Amsterdam, Milan, etc.

The Istanbul Room Mate Emir Hotel is designed by the Spanish studio Lázaro Rosa-Violán. The interiors reflect the connection between the East and the West, old and new. According to the designers, Emir is “the final merger of the coexisting buildings of old Istanbul, each with its own personality”.
The 47 suites reflect the cosmopolitan past of the Turkish capital: ceiling frescoes, parquet floors and exposed brickwork are preserved, but a mid-century palette is added, mirrors are strategically located, carpentry is lovingly decorated and ultramodern furniture is arranged.
Room Mate Hotels is simple but exciting: the best way to travel is to stay with friends.
