Proposte: private club of textile manufacturers

The Italian exhibition Proposte is a unique platform for world premier fabrics for the home. New furniture upholstery, curtains and interior textiles are on display here. The specifics of Proposte: here only participants selected by the organizers are allowed, and the visitors are wholesalers, large retail chains, publishers and furniture manufacturers. It’s impossible for a simple buyer to get to Proposte. Only by receiving an invitation from the factory presented at the exhibition. The exhibition was founded in 1993 by Alberto Dzhelmini, who, together with his sister Rosita Missoni, takes an active part in its implementation. Proposte runs in the spring on Lake Como. About 100 participants (half - Italian, half - foreign) occupy the space of the pavilion in the park and the historical interiors of the Villa Erba.

What is the trend? Manufacturers offer natural shades in natural fabrics for windows and expressive textures and bright colors in upholstery - this is the general trend of 2016.

“Our exhibition is, rather, not pure commerce, but an exhibition-impulse that allows the creative idea to gain ground, grow stronger and turn into an effective high-quality product. We tend not to expand the ranks, but rather to regularly check watches, - said Piercarlo Vigano, president of Proposte. “Our members are only five percent of the total number of textile publishers, and this pool can certainly be called elite.” The magnificent passages of the Villa Erba turn into an unusual exhibition space, the organizers practice video and light installations and various stage shows.
