Nendo at orgatec 2016: an office without corners

At the exhibition Orgatec, which will be held in Cologne from October 25 to October 29, the design bureau Nendo will present a new concept for organizing office spaces, designed for the largest Japanese manufacturer of office equipment Kokuyo. Nendo designers have come up with an alternative to an orderly structure of the interior with right angles and a clear geometry: instead of the traditional rectangles that divide the working areas, the designers offer round multi-functional modules made of light plywood. They can be used as partitions for openspaces, tables, writing boards for meetings, etc. The separation modules are available in several sizes and colors: white, dark blue, black and gray.

The designer has provided the availability of modules of various diameters. Modules can be used to zoning any zones in the office, and not just the workspace. The Offset-Frame Chair series of office chairs is the result of a collaboration between Nendo and Kokuyo Studios in 2015. Modules can even be used as a bike rack - it has a hole for the wheels.

“Round shape stimulates creativity, gives impetus to new ideas, it is ideal for creative people who are tired of the rhythm of a regular office,” says Oki Sato, head of the Nendo studio.
