The last masterpiece of the Dutch designer Marcel Wanders for the famous Italian producer Alessi: solid magic, a game and a circus tent. The whimsical collection includes 29 items of dining utensils, as well as five limited edition figures. Their prototypes were classic circus characters. Among them: a strong man (nutcracker), a baby elephant ballerina (a music box), a laughing jester (a corkscrew), a soundmaster (a bell for the butler), and also, for especially brave ones, a sweet clown (a candy dispenser).

Wanders himself describes his collection as a “one-of-a-kind performance”. Each object is made of stainless steel and decorated with rhombic, round, striped or other geometric patterns associated with circus costumes. In addition, an ideal color balance is achieved: white, black, yellow, red, gold and silver colors alternate in the design. “We learned how to combine stainless steel and color in a fun, unexpected and unique way,” says Wanders. “Thanks to the concept of the circus, we were able to convey what the Alessi brand built its reputation on - color, joy, and incredible energy.”

This masterpiece of Marcel Wanders for Alessi is definitely created to give joy and smiles. The development of the collection took as long as five years. After all, here, as in the circus, practice leads to perfection.
