The World Map and any variations of it are one of the most popular and sought-after accessories for the design of residential and office space. Today we suggest you make it in an unusual technique of string art.
String-Art (String-Art, izon) is a hande-made technique of making drawings with the help of nails and threads.
To perform the World Map using the string art technique, you will need:
Board of suitable size
Printer, paper, Internet (you can do without them, if there is already a ready-made card)
Scotch
Nails
Hammer
Cotton thread
Step 1
We print a sketch of the World map on the printer or take it ready (it is necessary unnecessary, since it will have to be broken).
Important! Board size is the size of the finished product. The size of the card must match the size of the board or differ minimally.
Step 2
Fasten with scotch tape (or in any other unreliable way so that it is easy to remove it later) to the board a sketch of the card.
Step 3
We drive nails along the perimeter of the painted continents.
The higher the heads of the nails will be located above the surface of the board, the bigger the picture will be.
Step 4
We remove from the board the remnants of paper sketch.
Step 4
In a chaotic order, we wind the thread on the nails so that the area of the continents is gradually filled with it. The thread is laid out in several layers, the entire height of the nails.
So that the thread does not slip off the nails, you can make loops or knots.
Step 5
Fold around the perimeter of each continent.
Map ready!
P.S. The World Map using the string art technique can be performed not only with monophonic threads, but also with colored ones.
