Ggs 2017: a stool that stimulates the brain

November 13, 2017 in Dubai started Design Week. The bright part of the program is the exhibition of innovations and technologies of the Global Grad Show. Pupils and graduates of 92 design schools from 43 countries conduct an excursion into the future.

How to stimulate the brain

Yasunori Morinaga, University of Lausanne Art and Design (ECAL), designed the ergonomic Moove chair. The seat consists of two halves. They move independently, providing comfort to the sitting person and reducing the negative effects of prolonged sitting. The movable design stimulates the emotional center of the brain, has a beneficial effect on health, causes a surge of energy and inspiration. The “prototype” of Moove was the Limbic chair, designed by Dr. Patrick Künzler (Patrik Kunzler) and designer Ben Flüri (Ben Fluri) in 2012. Yasunori Morinaga rethought this model, making it more elegant visually and affordable.

How not to forget to turn off the light

The Zahra Ghiaci project, the University of the Arts in Isfahan, reduces power consumption. The reason was that people constantly forget to turn off the light, leaving the room. Loight is a portable luminaire charged from the station. He is invited to take with him, moving to another room, and hang on the frames - whether it be a chandelier or a desk stand. Light intensity can be adjusted.

What dishes will improve the taste of dishes

Austusja Platūkytė, Vilnius Academy of Arts, developed a biodegradable material based on algae. Composed of agar-agar and calcium carbonate, impregnation with emulsion wax. The material came out light in weight, durable, waterproof, it holds its shape well. If necessary, items made from it are easy to recycle or fertilize. Petit Pli is a piece of clothing that grows seven sizes with a child and suits kids from four months to three years. Pleated fabric design is inspired by the art of origami. The material can stretch in height and width, adapting to the growing organism. And it remains durable, "breathable" and resistant to pollution.
