Шведско-французский дуэт Färg & Blanche (Фредрик Ферг и Эмма Марга Бланш) совместно с компанией Bolon создал кресло по мотивам доспехов японских воинов.

The Long Neck armchair with a hypertrophied back is conceived as a cocoon or shelter, which gives the sitting person a sense of security. The structure is inspired by samurai armor made from metal plates, leather and silk cords, where hard elements are combined with soft ones. Similarly, the Long Neck model combined two textures: Bolon brand Duet textiles - it was used for upholstery of the seat and back side of the back - and thermoplastic felt.

Fredrick Färg and Emma Marga Blanche love to experiment with materials. The ARMOUR mon AMOUR collection, of which the new model is a part, also includes armchairs in which a metal “shell” is sewn with the help of a sewing machine. And in 2014, for the Couture chair, the designers also sewed together elements from bent plywood.

The choice of Bolon as a partner is not accidental: well-known for its vinyl flooring, the brand also produces textiles today. Bolon has collaborated with Jean Nouvel and Missoni, and in 2017 he is promoting the Innovators at Heart initiative, a series of experimental creative collaborations.
